Flaming Gorge

Over Memorial Day we went to Flaming Gorge with Andy's family. Andy's family owns a small yacht cruiser and we camped on the boat and fished all weekend long! It was rainy, but such a great break!

It was such a fun trip! Can't wait til we go again!

BIRTHDAYS!

Birthdays were crazy these last couple months! For all of our birthdays this year, Scott and Tina gave us tickets to the EAGLES concert! The Eagles were performing on May 9th and right before the concert Ryan and I celebrated our birthdays, it was a great day! I will post Eagles pics later... We were in Lake Powell over Andy's birthday, so we were able to celebrate down there! More on that later....

Ryan and I both turned 23 on May 10th!

Tanner turned 19 on June 6th, and Andy turned 25 on June 13th!

Scott's Birthday was on June 10th! We gave him an Ipod, he loved it!

Working On Our Yard and Garage!

Since Spring we have been working on our yard little by little. We first started with a rock wall in our backyard and a cement pad for the X45 and by buying tons of tools at Home Depot and painting the garage! It has been a crazy few months! Buying a new house is more work than it seems :) Andy painting the garage
Andy's favorite part, buying paint and tools :)

I don't yet have completed pictures, but I will post some soon. Currently our sprinklers are almost done! Topsoil is the next step, then SOD!! Nixon will be so grateful!

I LOVE where we live!

I never want to move away from this place! We are loving it here. Every morning I wake up and have to smile when I walk outside :).

We are lucky to be sandwiched between the Lake and the mountains. We live at the top of the hill and there is a wonderful trail we hike on every morning with Nixon. I couldn't be more happy living here, I am glad we moved!

Pizza!

Andy and I attempted to make homemade pizza and it was delicious! It was super easy too which was a bonus :)

Recipe:

Soften: 1 package of yeast and 1/2 c of lukewarm water

Add: 2 c warm water

1 1/2 t salt

4 T shortening

2 t sugar

3 or 4 cups flour (until it is not sticky)

Mix for 5-10 minutes and let rise approx. 45 minutes

Andy and I bought a pizza pan, sauce, and pepperonis from Wal-Mart for under 5 bucks! After adding your favorite ingredients, bake for 25 minutes at 350!

He's Done!!!! (For Now.....)

Andy graduated from the University of Utah on May 8th with a Bachelors in Business Management! It was such a great (long) day!!! I am so proud of you Andy! Now on to graduate school we go :)

Easter 2009

Andy & Nixon

Easter was great this year! Andy made me breakfast and it was delicious! He made me eggs golden rod, an annual Easter breakfast, and it was so yummy! We were able to have dinner and visit both families! It was crazy, but a very fun day! Nixon was being a stinker and we couldn't get a very good family picture :)

Shape Shifter

I have had many interesting experiences recently with my 2nd graders. It is a common habit of students of any age to want to be fast at reading, therefore skipping most, or all, of the words. This especially happens in my more advanced reading groups and I have to constantly make them reread a section. Well, I approached a certain student with this issue and he replied, "I am not human, I am a shape shifter so I can read fast." (It is sometimes hard to be an authoritative figure when things like this happen and you want to laugh your head off...) so I told him he was a human child and he needed to reread the section at which he replied, "I am a shape shifter and I was only sent to this world to learn about human life." So be careful, there are shape shifters among us :)

The MTC!

My little brother entered the MTC and is on his way to Salta, Argentina in May! It was such a neat experience to be at the MTC with him. He will be such a great missionary and we are excited for him! Congratulations Andrew!

Meet Nixon

On February 28th we fell in love with the cutest black lab and had to bring him home! Nixon was born on December 23rd which means today he is 11 weeks old. He has been so much fun, and we are so lucky that we picked a smart and handsome puppy! Andy works at home so Nixon always keeps his daddy company on those long days. Andy is such a wonderful husband, he wakes up at at least 6 every morning to wake Nixon up and take him for a walk to go potty. Every day when I get home Andy has taught Nixon something new, he already knows how to sit, fetch, and we almost have him potty trained... but not quite :). I have such a wonderful husband and he sure loves his little guy.
