On March 2nd, Andy and I woke up so incredibly ready to welcome Mason. Since I was being induced, we were told to wait until we received a call to come in, in case there were a lot of emergency deliveries. They told us this call could come anywhere from 7 to 10 or 11 a.m. and to call the hospital if we hadn't been called by then. We were so anxious as 10:00 came and went. We decided to call around 10:30 just to see what was happening. The nurse then told us she was about to give us a call and to hurry in so no one else would snag our room before us :). So we of course raced to the hospital, checked in, and I was started on an IV by 11:30. Although I was ready for my epidural and pitocin, they were doing an inventory on the medicine, and I couldn't get it until around 2:30! So we just watched The Office for a couple of hours until they could start me on the meds. Since I was already fully effaced and dilated to a 4, I was able to receive my epidural before they started me on pitocin and broke my water! My epidural was incredible, didn't even feel it, and by the time the medicine kicked in, I felt better than I had in weeks since I had been having contractions for weeks! After my doctor broke my water, I just enjoyed feeling nothing for a couple of hours and drinking juice :). The nurse tried to pump up my pitocin a few times, but my contractions were too hard and close together every time, so I had to stay on the lowest level. At around 6:30 I got a new nurse. She checked me and I was dilated to a 6. She said she couldn't believe I was on the lowest level and wanted to turn up my pitocin. Although we all knew that my contractions were too hard on a higher level of pitocin, we all wanted to get this show on the road so we let her turn in up :). Minutes after she left, I felt like I had to push. I thought this was ridiculous because she just said I was a 6, but she hurried in a couple minutes later (because my contractions again were too hard) and she said she was going to check me just in case. When she checked me she said I was ready to push! I couldn't believe that I went from a 6 to 10 in just ten minutes. I started with a few practice pushes around 7:00 or so and pretty soon my nurse went to call my doctor! I was so excited. However, my doctor was 20 minutes away! He decided to run somewhere quick since I was only dilated to a 6! That was the worst part, trying not to push when everything in my body was wanting to! As soon as my doctor walked in, I delivered in 2 pushes at 8:04 pm. It was such an incredible experience, and I was so happy to finally meet my cute little man!

He has been such a joy in our lives, and I am so lucky to be his Mama!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xx7WTFLz4As/TYkqoni3e0I/AAAAAAAAAnQ/udKsu6HAmbc/s320/IMGP0155.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587043690028170050" />
Our first family picture

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lxoNYZGIsjc/TYkqpF9nQII/AAAAAAAAAnY/jeyXBJtr3SI/s320/IMGP0172.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587043698193416322" />
Mason and Andy

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-22gKz1rvaKs/TYkpkcKmbWI/AAAAAAAAAnI/hxL0LIi_MCo/s320/Hospital.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587042518742494562" />
Mason Scott Schreyer
He looks just like his daddy :)

We love you more than you will ever know Mason! We have decided on the name Mason Scott Schreyer and we are so excited to get him here. I have been quickly progressing and my doctor is shocked I have not had Mason yet. He thought I would have gone at 38 weeks for sure. On Wednesday I had another appointment and since I was measuring at 4 cm and fully effaced, he stripped my membranes for the 2nd time! I think this little boy has a mind of his own though... I told my students he is already grounded... :). However, since my body is ready I will be induced on March 2nd if he hasn't come by then!

It is crazy annoying packing, using, and repacking our hospital bag every day before I go teach. Our doctor keeps telling us "any day now" so we can't risk even leaving the house without our bags, car seat, and everything else we will need, but it will be worth it next Wednesday :). Only 5 more days of repacking our stuff.

We have been keeping our house extraordinarily clean too just in case. It's a good habit to have I guess, but it's monotonous cleaning the house every night "just in case" before we go to bed instead of letting the laundry and clutter pile up for a few days before a good clean :). It feels like the movie "Groundhog's Day" where he wakes up every day to the same routine. I wake up, unpack the stuff I need from my bag to get ready for the day, repack my bag with the same stuff, go teach, tell my students goodbye for the 8th time just in case, come home and make dinner, clean up the house, go to sleep, repeat. Each day wondering whether each contraction will be the beginning to the end of this madness :).

Andy is even more excited, paying super close attention to every contraction I have; he even made a timeline of everything that has happened and when our little boy should be here :). We are trying to distract ourselves as much as possible but just can't wait to hold him!

We are very much ready though, we keep buying last minute stuff like groceries and other little things. Since it's so cold outside we try to go shopping so I can go on walks inside, Costco is our favorite :). We bought this cutest life jacket for Mason this summer on one of our Costco trips.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 239px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q1o7tJinSaI/TWgSYRSY54I/AAAAAAAAAmc/1VIkSr4IMTE/s320/photo%25284%2529.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5577728346665052034" />
I am horrible at taking pictures of my belly, and horrible at even wanting to take pictures of my belly, but this is me at 30 weeks right before Christmas
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 239px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0S8p-w7kl8k/TWgS7s5UT1I/AAAAAAAAAmk/k6jY4AKi_z4/s320/photo%25285%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5577728955371507538" />
This picture was taken at 37 and 1/2 weeks, Andy bought me flowers because it had been 4 years since he had proposed :).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LG6WCuj2sKw/TWgTbohtoBI/AAAAAAAAAms/BUWYch9tz5o/s320/photo%25286%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5577729503954575378" />
We sure are both excited to have a picture of Mason outside of my belly though!

24 Weeks

It has been awhile since I have updated on our little boy! I am now a little over 24 weeks along, and he is so active inside of me, I love it! I have been so lucky with this pregnancy, and haven't really been sick at all. We had our 20 week appointment about a month ago and it was so much fun. It was way better than the other ultrasounds we have received so far. We had already found out that he was a boy, but we were still excited for the "big" ultrasound to make sure he was healthy. It was amazing. We were able to see the four chambers of his heart and the blood pumping through. Our ultrasound tech was so awesome explaining every part of his cute little body to us, and the best part was finding out that so far, he is healthy! We were able to have so many pictures to take home (some in 4D!) and a DVD of the whole ultrasound, it was amazing. Our due date also moved up 3 days because he was measuring a little bigger, so his new date is the 4th of March. As for a name for our cute little guy, we aren't 100% sure yet, but as for right now we are loving the name Mason.

The little stinker was covering his face with his hands the whole time!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TOIBddEy2xI/AAAAAAAAAl0/TVJucpKHaqw/s320/Mason1.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539992097151703826" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 258px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TOIC0uL000I/AAAAAAAAAl8/hS4wOHfkk-c/s320/Mason2.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539993596393214786" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 262px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TOIEtujQjDI/AAAAAAAAAmM/GDHH42jpbv8/s320/Mason4.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539995675255671858" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 293px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TOIEEqL_SPI/AAAAAAAAAmE/owmK2awe1bA/s320/Mason3.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5539994969709693170" />

We are so excited for this cute little guy to come into our lives and can't wait until March is here!

It's a boy!

We are having a baby boy around the 7th of March! On the 19th we went in for our appointment and we were so excited because our doctor is awesome and does ultrasounds every appointment just because he likes to. We had heard that on our 16th week ultrasound if he can tell what the baby is he would let us know, so we couldn't wait to see if he could tell! Well, we were way disappointed when we arrived at the office and heard he was in the middle of a c-section at the hospital and wouldn't be at our appointment, which essentially means no ultrasound. The nurse could tell how bummed we were and asked if we wanted to wait a half hour when he would be done. Of course we said yes and she called the Doctor to see where he was at and how long he would be. Apparently he had decided to give the girl one last chance at pushing and had barely scheduled her for her c-section. Because he is the world's best doctor, while they were preparing her for surgery, he ran over to his office from the hospital and did an ultrasound for us! I was so grateful, and so shocked that he would come over from the hospital just to see if he could tell what our baby was! We weren't even supposed to have an ultrasound! He is the best, and I am so glad he is our doctor! As soon as he started the ultrasound it was completely obvious that our baby wanted us to know he was all boy :). The doctor said, he is definitely 100% all boy! Every time the doctor tried to get another shot, he would turn and spread his legs again just to let us know for sure he was our little boy. We were ecstatic. I am so happy to be having our first baby boy! We of course had to buy our first outfit, and I love it! The only problem is, every time I walk by it, I wish he was here so I could dress him in it and snuggle with him! We can't wait for March to come!

Sugar and Spice or Puppy Dog Tails...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TIaxqJwRBGI/AAAAAAAAAlM/Sd7MWnxiIeo/s320/Baby+Schreyer" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514290131492734050" />

We are excited to announce that we are having our first baby somewhere around March 7, 2011! This year has been such an amazing year! It was my first real year teaching (2009-2010) and I had AMAZING kids! I loved them all! I had a fantastic entire school year and it couldn't have been better! My brother in law Tanner went on a mission to Peru last August, and just barely hit his year mark! My other brother in law Ryan married Chelsea and their wedding was beautiful! My brother Andrew hit is one year mark last March and will be coming home in only 6 months as well as my step brother Gavin. I moved from being the beehive advisor to the Mia Maid advisor which is awesome. My last day of school was bittersweet as I made it through my whole first year, but was sad to leave my awesome students! This summer was full of fun from going to Lake Powell and Flaming Gorge, to preparing for my brand new school year. School this year has been even better than I could have imagined. My kids are already amazing, and I am excited to see what happens! I am so happy to have had such a great year, and I can't wait for another one! (Hopefully I'm better at posting this year, instead of once a year :) ).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 197px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n_WTC7U2wd8/TFmp8epNatI/AAAAAAAAAk8/BNqjWXL9hIU/s320/Lightning.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5501615276292926162" />
I woke up last night to the crash and boom of lightning and thunder. It hit so close to our house that I could feel it shake, and the thunder boomed at the exact same time the lightning hit. I immediately reached for Andy, just to notice he was gone. I yelled his name and he came running inside; he had gone outside to get Nixon out of his kennel and into his garage kennel. As I laid in his arms he calmed me down, assured me that our house was safe, and I couldn't help but feel so blessed to have him in my life to love me and calm my fears. This morning I realized what a silly thing it was to be so afraid of lightning, but it is still such a comfort just to know he will be there for me, protecting me. And the funny thing is now we know that when we have kids they are going to have to come running to Andy to comfort them during a lightning storm because I will be hiding under the covers!

June Lake Powell Trip

LAKE POWELL!!!!!!!!

Kayleigh, me, and Maddi inside the golf cart riding down to the houseboat!

Lake Powell was so much fun! (I forgot my sunglasses! So Kayleigh let me borrow her sick crazy sunglasses haha....)

Often we went on hikes. We hiked quite a bit on this trip and it was a blast.... until NAVAJO CANYON!! We were told: It is probably 3 miles in and 3 miles out. HMMMM... well, after we had been hiking for 2 1/2 hours we were convinced this probably wasn't the case. Needless to say, we left at 2:00 pm to hike what we thought would be a great hike, but soon enough we had hiked at least 10 miles each barefoot (because we had to hike through rivers), been bitten by at least 50 horseflies, and made it back to the boat at dusk. Here are the boys pushing us off the bank:Then.... when it couldn't get any worse it did..Not quite sure what all was in that muck, but it sure as heck clogged our impeller, overheating the engine. So there we were bodies completely broken, hadn't eaten since lunch, no water, super tired, in the middle of Navajo Canyon (our radio wasn't working in the Canyon) in the middle of the night! Adam, my cousin, so brilliantly fixed the impeller at the same time a patrol boat radioed us. We waited for them and had to follow them the entire way out of the canyon which took hours and at the end our parents were waiting for us tired, famished kids when our impeller clogged AGAIN! We were then towed by Andy's Dad back to the houseboat and at a quarter to two ate dinner and replenished our fluids :)... A story to remember! On our way to BRO STOCK 2009!

BRO STOCK! I had a blast at Bro Stock this year! For those who don't know, Bro Stock is a wakeboard competition put on by liquid force. Houseboats are lined up next to each other, and we walked freely around each one. In a strange turn of events we mooched our way onto the VIP boat! (Mostly by playing on male egos :)) My girls and I were on a commercial with Shane Bonafe sp? a pro wakeboarder, we got free skull candy earphones, t-shirts, chapsticks, and tons of other SWAG! It was a great time!

Later on that day we were walking around the houseboats and snagged a ride on this beautiful chopper! As it turned out, one of the girls with us ended up knowing the owner of this houseboat and helicopter and he liked her so much he gave us a ride! It was extra awesome because it was Andy's birthday. Talk about an amazing day!

To end that night we had a rave on the top of our houseboat... good times! Andy and I wake up, hook the boat up, and pick up Andy's uncle Ro and head out to the lake! Sometimes it is cold, but the water is great and no one else is ever on the lake! It is such a great way to wake up and then we go home, shower, and go to work!! It is a common habit of students of any age to want to be fast at reading, therefore skipping most, or all, of the words. This especially happens in my more advanced reading groups and I have to constantly make them reread a section. Well, I approached a certain student with this issue and he replied, "I am not human, I am a shape shifter so I can read fast." (It is sometimes hard to be an authoritative figure when things like this happen and you want to laugh your head off...) so I told him he was a human child and he needed to reread the section at which he replied, "I am a shape shifter and I was only sent to this world to learn about human life." So be careful, there are shape shifters among us :)

Elder Andrew John Larsen

Eating at Golden Corral before the MTC

The MTC!

My little brother entered the MTC and is on his way to Salta, Argentina in May! Nixon was born on December 23rd which means today he is 11 weeks old. He has been so much fun, and we are so lucky that we picked a smart and handsome puppy! Andy works at home so Nixon always keeps his daddy company on those long days. Andy is such a wonderful husband, he wakes up at at least 6 every morning to wake Nixon up and take him for a walk to go potty. Every day when I get home Andy has taught Nixon something new, he already knows how to sit, fetch, and we almost have him potty trained... but not quite :). I have such a wonderful husband and he sure loves his little guy.

Andy and Nixon taking a nap

Annie and Nixon

Uncle Toby and Nixon at our cabin in Park City

Toby and Nixon on a walk

It's official!

I will be teaching 2nd grade at Eagle Valley Elementary in the Fall!!! It has been such a blast being out here, and everything is just perfect. I just wanted to post about the things that we have learned since we have moved out here in our new house...
1. Garbage day is on Thursday. This took us a few weeks to get used to, but when the garbage starts to pile up you learn pretty quick.
2. If you let the snow get too deep in your driveway because you haven't bought a snow shovel your neighbors will come do it for you.
3. When you finally buy a snow shovel and go out to shovel your driveway for the first time, your neighbors will feel bad for you and come over with their snow blowers to get the job done in half the time.
4. Neighbor Christmas gifts rock.
5. Circles do not get snow plowed so from time to time you may bottom out trying to get to your driveway.
6. Since circles do not get snow plowed, people give rides on sleds behind their 4 wheelers during the day.
7. You have to buy a mailbox.
8. Living in a home without blinds can be interesting... good thing they came a couple days after we moved in.
9. If the bank forgets to take the real estate key box off the door, there is a switch inside that you can push to take it off yourself.
10. Reception is not great out here and since we have not yet set up service we do not watch tv. Needless to say, your own movies get old fast.
11. Because movies get old fast, you can watch tv shows on the internet if you don't mind pushing start again after the commercials end.

This has been such an amazing experience. We are still getting used to being homeowners! We love our neighborhood, our ward, and everything we are currently doing out here.

Home Owners!!!

We closed today! After dinner we played a fun present game and we all had a ton of fun! I have a lot to be thankful for right now!

I know that everyone is sick of Twilight by now, but I had a late start because Andy's family wanted to go so we waited til they went (and they paid which makes it beneficial to wait...)! It was awesome! It was way better than I thought it would be and I loved it. It obviously changed a bit and left out some of the parts in the book, but there is no way they could have fit it all in, and quite frankly I think they did an amazing job! I loved it, and that is all the more I will say.

Now for our final update on our house, we should close tomorrow!!! We are so excited to move in this next weekend! We bought a refrigerator to match our other appliances and today we went to measure it to make sure it would fit. We feel like this house is perfect for us in every way and we are so thankful that it worked out! Today we went to our new ward to check it out since we will be officially moved in on Friday or Saturday and we loved it. They are building a brand new stake center near our house too so a lot of new things are happening and we couldn't be more excited! We will keep you updated but if you don't hear from us this week it is because we are undergoing the monotonous task of moving... again... but hopefully this will be the last time for a few years!

Our Crazy Life

I feel like I have died in the blogging world! I haven't updated in forever, and yet I read everyone else's blogs and always check if you have updated yours that day or not! So, in the spirit of getting better I will post a gigantuous post of our lives these past few months.

August ended with a huge change in our lives, we left our wonderful apartment for hopes of finding a exceptional house. It was super hard leaving our first home! Even though we don't really miss the random alarm clocks throughout our building, and tons of kids always screaming, we miss our ward, our friends, and just being on our own. It was a lot of stress moving out because we decided to do it on the spur of the moment, and school started the same week we were moving. I would go to work, go to school, pack til really late, and do it over again! It was crazy, and I would never do it again :) Andy's parents, Scott and Tina, were kind enough to let us stay at their house until the deal on the house went through so that we wouldn't have to pay rent for nothing. However, we were mislead to how long this process would take!!! 2 1/2 months later.... we found our house!! We are so excited, and now we can say that this whole process was worth it, and most of you may think that 2 months is not that long, but it sure has been a learning experience living with other people, and we are glad that we are almost done. Dont get me wrong, Scott and Tina were SOOO hospitable and sweet. They even cooked every meal for us because Andy and I don't get home from school and work until late at night. They have been so awesome, but I cannot wait to get into our own home again!

Right after we moved in we went to Flaming Gorge for the last time this year, and it was a blast. You cant really tell, this was the boat parade. A bunch of people dress their boats in lights and they are awesome! Then everyone with boats goes into the middle of the lake and watches the boat parade! It is a lot of fun. School was the next big task to be accomplished, Andy and I are in school full time, and working full time. It has been a crazy couple of months. Now you can see why I found blogging to be somewhat difficult! Andy graduates in May with his Business Management degree from the University of Utah, and I just started student teaching! It has been a lot of fun. But I think it is safe to say that I am the only one who fully enjoys everything about school right now!

September went by in a haze, and I truthfully do not remember much that happened that month, I do remember that we both were sick, it was a hard month for us. October was just great. I think we got used to living with the parents, and everything was just great. Jayni, Jake, and I canned applesauce from free apples! They were, however, pretty gross so we had to cut them into tiny pieces to get all of the nasty crap out but that is what you get when they are free! Then Jayni and Jake hosted a Halloween party at their new house for our family. It was so much fun! However, Andy, Elly, Toby, and Annie were the only ones to dress up! Slackers..... :)

Toby, Annie, and Elly

Andrew, Elly, Annie, and Andy

Jake, Elly, Jayni, and Toby

Sayuri, Jee Won, Tina, and Justin

Andy and I dressed up as Guitar Heros but Andy had to take off his wig and makeup because Toby thought it was scary :) Elly was a Southern Bell and Toby was a cute little pumpkin!
The actual Halloween day was fun too. We had to dress up for work, and then we had a haunted scavenger hunt that Rebecca put on and it was sooo fun. Every year she puts on a great scavenger hunt with tons of clues all over the Salt Lake valley. We look forward to this ALL year long! We get into groups and whoever finishes first gets a prize. This years theme was Haunted Murders. It was so scary! I made Andy go inside all of the scary places because there was absolutely no blasted way I was going down into some crazy haunted cellar in the middle of the forest! Andy was only really scared once, and it was at the end. The next clue was inside of a coffin in the middle of a field and Andy had kicked the coffin and it was empty so he opened the lid and one of Rebecca's daughters dropped a figure on fishing line out of the tree and I have never heard him scream so loud in his life! It was hilarious. What a fun night! Here are some pictures:

Annie, Abbie, and Krista
We hid Krista's purse and made her go on a Scavenger Hunt for it, as you can see, she was a little lost at this point :) Scott the Mafia guy trying to sneak inside the pass through box at work
So, we had a little too much fun on Halloween, and it was a great day! As of now, I just started student teaching 5th graders at Draper Elementary and I love it! I taught my first lesson on Roanoke and Jamestown and it turned out 100% better than I thought it would and I am looking forward to the next two weeks. My students are sooo funny and I just love teaching them.

Abbie got engaged on Saturday while we were working! Jordan (her fiance) had random people put ring pops with cute sayings on them through the drive-up tubes and each one came one at a time and at the end he was behind her with beautiful flowers and her ring. It was so cute and so much fun for me and Krista to be there. Here are pictures of that:

Finally, info about our awesome, wonderful, perfect house! We are so excited. Our offer was accepted, financing was great, and now we are just waiting for the inspection and then we will close! We understand that inspection could change the fact if we move into this particular house right now or not, but it is a brand new house, never been lived in, so we are pretty hopeful. We cannot wait! The things we love about our house are the size of it, the location, the neighborhood, the fact that it is on a cul-de-sac circle, the fact that it is overlooking the lake and the mountains, and that it has never been lived in! We already have 7 bedrooms finished, and an unfinished basement, so we would never have to make any more rooms downstairs! It is just a wonderful house and we feel so blessed to finally see a light at the end of this long road! Here are just a few pictures:

This is the upstairs. There are four identical bedrooms, 2 behind me, and 2 on the other end, and then this upstairs family room and straight ahead is another bathroom.This is the front door and living room. I love that it leads into the family room! The garage and laundry room are through that door on the left.

This is half of our unfinished basement

So finally it seems our life is going to be back to normal and we again get to change new wards, new neighborhoods, and start a new life! The fair was one of my favorite times of the year when I was younger and I still really love it! We arrived just a little too late to watch our family sell their pigs in the auction, but we still were able to see them after. Then we went to watch Brent Moyes in Fair Idol! Brent is married to my cousin Stacie, so we went to go vote for him and watch him sing! Thanks Ronna for the still awesome year old cake! After that we decided to go with our friends to the midnight showing of Batman. Although we hadn't stayed up past midnight for quite sometime it was well worth it and tons of fun! Luckily we were able to sleep in on Friday and packed up for our small getaway to Park City! Andy's Grandma, Oma, has a chalet in Park City and we decided to spend the weekend up there to relax and go mountain biking! When we arrived at the cabin we were surprised with balloons, flowers, candy, fruits, cheese, crackers, and a wonderful card that Oma had left for us! She had driven up the night before just to make our weekend special! Thanks so much Oma! It was just the thing to start our weekend off great. Then the inevitable happened. Andy went outside to get the bikes out and I unpacked the food. Wanting to go watch him, I left the cabin and shut the door behind me... unfortunately I was unaware that the door automatically stays locked unless manually unlocked from the inside. Andy wasn't worried until he couldn't find the spare. That is correct the spare was missing and we were very much locked out of the cabin!!!! Crazy!! So after about an hour of adventures full of climbing on the roof and balcony trying to miraculously find an open window we found out that the cabin is remarkably secure! Comforting if you are inside! So we realized that the only thing to do was take a long drive to Ryan's work in Salt Lake to get the spare... yes that's right.. Ryan (Andy's brother) forgot to leave the spare the week before!! It was fun and we had many laughs about it. When we got back we decided to go to an amazing steak house. It was the BEST steak ever!!! We will definitely be making that a tradition... and saving up for awhile before our next attempt :) The next morning we went mountain biking!!! It was so much fun. With our snowboarding seasons passes we were able to go on the lifts for FREE!!!! Andy and I had so much fun. The mountains were unbelievable gorgeous and we were so happy with each other! It was so fun and we shared tons of laughs, especially since Andy was still working on how to get out of his pedal clips when he needed his feet on the ground.. lets just say he had his fair share of falls on that trip :) When we were finally done our legs looked like this.... But it was well worth the dirt and sweat and many scrapes! We decided to take our sore butts to the Alpine roller coaster and it was a great decision! We had so much fun! I had been on the alpine slide before but this was much better. We finished off the night at the famous Red Banjo pizza parlor and ate some Carmel apples and enjoyed one last night ride on the town lift. We ended the weekend on a wonderful Sunday morning walk in the beautiful mountains. I loved our little trip and have to say that this year has been simply amazing! I love my husband, and the joy he brings into my life everyday. He is unbelievable and I am so glad that I can spend many more anniversaries with him! I love you Andy, thanks for the wonderful year!

Pioneer Trek

In church last Sunday for primary we went on a trek just outside around the church... more like a small walk but it was so cute! We walked around and did some dances and then sat down under a tree on some blankets and heard pioneer stories! It was so cute. While the leaders were telling stories the kids were given little bottles with some cream and a marble in it and they had to shake the bottle to make butter! It was such a fun lesson and I love Sister Udy and her inspiration in everything. She is such an awesome teacher, leader, and friend. The kids loved eating the butter they made and I thought it was so fun.

Lake Powell

It feels like forever since I have posted! I have a lot to catch up on and first is Lake Powell! I absolutely love this place. It is relaxing, beautiful, and so much fun to hang out with family there! We left on Sunday night and slept in the slip on the houseboat waiting for more family to arrive. The next morning we took out the mastercraft and decided to go look for a spot to dock the houseboat at. We found the most beautiful beach (I wish I had taken a picture) and we waited there for awhile. Unfortunately the air conditioner went out in the houseboat a few weeks earlier and someone called to tell us they had the parts and could install it on Tuesday.... We weren't really excited about leaving our awesome beach, but we asked the neighbors to try and save our spot and... it worked! Thanks to that awesome family that drove off tons of crazy houseboaters :) It was after all the fourth of July weekend! The week was wonderful filled with lots of fun friends, family, and great memories. I love lake powell! Thanks to Oma who lets us come every year on the fourth to have a great time!

Andy wakeboarding! Andy and I had so much fun taking Elly on "scary" rides. Elly was so scared to go on Terror Ride but we took her anyways (which I feel kind of bad about) :) She had her hands over her eyes the whole time! It was so funny. Then we took her on Tidal Wave and her whole body shook when we rocked to the top! After putting her through that we decided that we would stop the scary rides and go on the Zoo train. Elly loved Puff and really wanted to ride with uncle Andy on it.

She was so excited and kept asking us "Is it our turn yet?" which happened every time the ride started to load more people. Puff took forever! But it was a hit with Elly and she loved it! Her favorite ride was Rattlesnake Rapids. She was so cute on the ride laughing and giggling and screaming! For some reason our side which consisted of Andy, me, and Elly got soaked! The other people didn't even get wet!

After all of that fun, and sitting in huge lines, the kids were tired so Jayni took them back to the house and had them take a nap. Andy and I went on more rides and met up with our friends Nicole and Scott and rode the Spider, Colossus, and other fun rides. Finally more of our friends showed up and we waited in line for the new ride "wicked". It was a long wait and right when we were at the top, the ride shut down! It was sad! So we went and ate dinner and Elly and Tobes came back with Jayni for dinner. Then we went on the Dragonfly which is the little kids version of the swings and Elly loved it. They had had enough so they went back home and we tried the Bat (which was not as fun as it looked :) ) and some other rides. Unfortunately I had felt sick all day and it was starting to really get worse. I don't know what was making me so sick, but I finally had to call it a night and go home.

I was miserable all night and my wonderful husband woke up this morning and got me some Canadian Dry soda and bananas. I rejected his offer stating that I hated green bananas (and boy were they green) but he lovingly made me eat the combination of the two and now I feel tons better. I still feel a little sick, but the ride to Lake Powell today won't be so horrible after all. Thanks sweetheart!

We will be in Lake Powell this whole week (wahoo!!!) So we will catch you up on that more when we get back!

Happy Birthday Andy!

Andy's birthday was yesterday and he turned 24! It was so yummy! Then we came back to our house and had a few friends over for Baskin Robbins ice cream cake! It was delicious! Then we went to the movie "What happens in Vegas" with our friends Justin and Jo and the movie was amazing. It is definitely one we will add to our collection! It was a wonderful day!

I just want to take a second to say how great my husband is. He cleaned the house yesterday for the party and it was his birthday! The amount of snow was overwhelming, and as we were driving up we couldn't believe our eyes! When me, Tanner and Andy got to the cabin, the snow was higher than the handrails walking down to the front door, and most of the roads were one-way with huge snow banks on both sides!
